Job summary

A leading forestry services company in Saint John is looking for a Process Engineer to enhance operational performance through troubleshooting and optimization. Job Details

The Process Engineer is responsible for providing troubleshooting, process analyses, optimization and improvement support to the mill Technical and Operations groups.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and participate in troubleshooting and problem‑solving initiatives, trials, optimization work and other improvement projects.
  • Analyze process trends, interpret data and propose solutions.
  • Work to improve process, environmental and quality performance.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement of the operation.
  • Provide technical and operational input and support to capital project teams, including review of P&ID's and process control logic.
  • Communicate process changes all while adhering to and promoting safe work practices.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Pulp & Paper industry experience is required.
  • Experience with Recovery Boilers, steam turbines, and/or water treatment systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, including commissioning and startup of complex systems would be an asset.
  • Experience in troubleshooting process problems and optimizing system performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including project managers, contractors, and operations personnel.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Well‑developed organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Interest in a variety of business functions, such as Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Technical, Project Management and Safety.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Curiosity and persistence – you are a problem‑solver with a natural tendency to ask questions.
  • Strong focus on safety and process improvement.
  • Drive, initiative, teamwork.
  • Language required: English.
