Job Description

Parsons is seeking a junior to intermediate level Engineer Associate, Intelligent Transportation System in their Markham office in Ontario to be part of a team working on infrastructure projects.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Conduct studies, site investigations and designs for intelligent transportation system infrastructures for various agencies across Canada and in international projects.
  • Attend meetings, coordinate projects, conduct field work such as site survey and inspection as required.
  • Generate/Review design layout, electrical wiring, communication network diagrams, construction details.
  • Generate/Review system test plans and scripts, attend/conduct tests, data processing and analysis.
  • Write and edit project construction specifications.
  • Contract administrations, review shop drawings, equipment submittals, perform site inspections, produce report and punch lists.
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Electrical Engineering graduated with 1-8 years of related work experience. Other engineering disciplines with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Current registration or eligible to be a Professional Engineer in Ontario is a must.
Skills / Competencies
  • Strong analytical skill, attention to details, self-motivated and capable to learn independently in adapting new technologies with the fast-growing Intelligent transportation system field.
  • Have a system mindset, capable to oversee the inter-working of all system components and attention to details diving into individual system component.
  • Strong background in AutoCAD, MicroStation Revit, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are desired.
  • Experience on MTO and other municipal agencies of Ontario is desired.
