Explore Our Divisions and Roles
Engineering Services

Engineering Services manages projects that maintain, renew and expand the city’s infrastructure, including roads, stormwater systems, water distribution, sanitary systems and treatment plants. The division also offers expertise in surveying, design, drafting, project management, construction monitoring and quality assurance testing.

Positions include: Project Engineers, Water/Wastewater Engineer, Engineering Technicians, Drainage Engineer, Roads Engineer.

Linear Infrastructure Services

Linear Infrastructure Services (LIS) manages and operates all public linear assets in Greater Sudbury, including roads, bridges, sidewalks, stormwater systems, forestry, traffic devices, water distribution and sanitary sewers. It also oversees business improvement, technology innovation, road occupancy and oversize load permitting, and utility locate services. LIS ensures these systems are safe, affordable and environmentally responsible.

Positions include: Operations Engineer.

Qualifications (Depending On Role)
  • University degree in an Engineering discipline and eligible for membership with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
  • College diploma in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Engineering Technician, Transportation Technology, or a related field and eligible for membership in the Ontario Association of Certified Technicians and Technologists (OACTT)
  • Certified as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
