ENEV 462 Sessional Lab Instructor (Engineering Hydrology) - 202610

Position Summary: Introductory engineering hydrology course covering rainfall, snowmelt, infiltration, evaporation, streamflow, flood frequency analysis, flood routing, and runoff modeling.

Position Requirements
  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree with a P.Eng. designation.
  • Background and hands‑on lab experience as described below; previous teaching experience at a post‑secondary institution is an asset.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; submission of a one‑page teaching philosophy statement.
  • Analytical knowledge of hydrology process analyses, rating curve development, HEC‑HMS design analyses. Lab equipment operations: operating a small‑scale meteorological station, pumps, flumes, and adjusting flow for rating curve development, hydrology apparatus, sand‑bed pump, and flow measurement for weir calibration, precipitation distribution, rainfall catchment drainage hyetographs, and hydrographs. Ability to teach design of a small drainage area model in HEC‑HMS, set up equipment, and troubleshoot.
Physical Demands

Pay Grade: Faculty Sessional Salary Range (as per URFA Collective Agreement).

Work Hours and Course Modality

Term‑specific: 9:30 a.m. – 4:15 p.m., January 1, 2026 – April 30, 2026 (in‑person).
