Job summary

Pacific Coast Community Resources Inc is seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to provide compassionate care in staffed homes within the community. You will empower individuals to live independently, assist with daily living activities and medication administration, and document progress in our care plans.

The role requires relevant education and experience, ongoing training, and strong communication with team members, families, and professionals.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education required.
  • Community Support Worker Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in community social services/health care.
  • Current Emergency First Aid/CPR and Food Safe certificates.
  • Previous behaviour management course/training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written).
  • Non-verbal communication skills.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License with reliable vehicle and $2,000,000 liability insurance.
  • Criminal record clearance for children and vulnerable adults.
  • TB Test.
  • Moderate computer literacy.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Respect the rights and choices of the supported persons and advocate as needed.
  • Interact effectively with people we support.
  • Empower individuals to be active community members.
  • Develop, implement, and document Personal Service Plans.
  • Foster relationships with families, professionals, coworkers, and the community.
  • Assist with activities of daily living and medication administration.
  • Apply behaviour management principles and support mental health needs.
  • Record daily activities and PHI in the case management database.
  • Maintain a clean, safe home with light housekeeping and meals.
