Job summary

Dutchess BOCES Adult Learning Institute is seeking enthusiastic instructors to help adults returning to the classroom work toward a New York High School Equivalency Diploma (GED). Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Masters Degree in K-12 preferred, certification not required but eligible for NY Adult Education Certification within 6 months.
• Experience working with adults from varied backgrounds in educational settings is ideal.
• Must be confident teaching high school math and language skills.

Responsibilities

• Create individualized lesson plans and conduct public outreach; communicate with students; track progress and attendance; administer assessments.
• Open-entry, in-person classes for learners 18+; maintain set weekly schedule (3 hours/day, 2–4 days/week; 6–9 hours total weekly).
