Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking an Employment Specialist to provide subject matter expertise on employment compliance, HR policies, and related business practices.

The role monitors legislation, supports compliance projects, and develops practical tools and guidance for consistent HR practices across Canadian jurisdictions. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR Management, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Resources with a focus on employment compliance.
• HR certification preferred, such as CHRP, CHRL, or equivalent certification applicable to the assigned jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse employment legislation, regulatory developments, and HR compliance trends within assigned Canadian jurisdictions.
• Conduct research and analysis to identify compliance risks, process gaps, or inconsistent practices, and recommend practical solutions or escalation where appropriate.
• Provide subject matter expertise and practical guidance to HR Client Services, HR Services, Talent Services, and other internal HR stakeholders on employment compliance requirements impacting policies, business practices, processes and related projects.
• Support employment compliance projects and initiatives driven by legislative change, business needs, risk assessments, or internal process improvements.
• Develop, maintain, and improve compliance-related tools, resources, process documentation, templates, and guidance materials to support consistent HR practices.
• Support the creation, review, and updating of employment policies and practices and related materials in partnership with appropriate stakeholders such as Risk Management, Talent Services, HR Client Services, Payroll, and business stakeholders.
• Design, consult on, and deliver training, reference materials, and knowledge-sharing sessions for HR Services and HR Client Services.
• Maintain awareness of HR best practices and recommend improvements that enhance compliance, operational efficiency, consistency, and employee experience.
