Status : Temporary Part-Time ( October 2026 )

As an integral member of the Outpatient Clinic department at Toronto Rehab the EMG TECHNOLOGISTs principal responsibilities include: utilizing knowledge of anatomy and physiology to perform Electromyography and / Evoked Potentials (EMG and EP) and other special electrodiagnostic procedures in an outpatient clinic as per established standards; operating troubleshooting and ensuring equipment is performing in an effective and efficient manner; preparing electronic and written reports required to document all procedures and test results; participating in teaching training and other educational activities; performing other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care; observing and understanding Hospital and departmental policies and procedures; adhering to Hospital and departmental mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality; performing cross-functional responsibilities as assigned and / or required.

Qualifications
  • At minimum completion of an undergraduate degree program: Bachelors of Science or recognized equivalent (Biology, Kinesiology, Neuroscience, etc.).
  • Three to Five years of practical and related experience.
  • Licensed with the Canadian Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (CAET) and / or the Association of Electromyography Technologists of Canada (AETC) preferred.
  • Must understand / know electrical safety standards.
  • EMG and Nerve Conduction studies experience.
  • Must be able to exercise initiative and good judgment with the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong decision‑making skills to identify which cases require escalation to the physician for intervention.
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high‑quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards.
  • Must demonstrate compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN’s Privacy Policy.
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislative UHN and / or departmental policies.
  • Must be client‑service oriented with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand.
