Job summary

URS, a Northern BC restoration company and member of Canstar Group, seeks an Emergency Services Technician to restore homes after fires or floods. You will travel to diverse sites daily, perform demolition, fire and water restoration, and follow safety guidelines.

The role offers overtime potential, on-call rotations, and extensive training opportunities; junior techs can apply and be trained in demolition and restoration.

Qualifications

• Fire and flood restoration and/or demolition experience is an asset.
• Hazardous material abatement experience and certifications is an asset.
• No experience required for junior technicians; training provided in demolition and restoration.
• Physical ability to bend, reach, lift 50 pounds repeatedly and stand during shift.
• Willingness to work overtime and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Complete paperwork such as Site Safety Assessments and Work Authorizations.
• Monitor job sites and document drying progress.
• Use meters to locate wet areas.
• Perform water extraction and set up/monitor drying and dehumidifying equipment.
• Assist with board-ups and removal of damaged materials.
• Disengage and cut seams in affected carpet; operate truck mounts and specialty equipment.
