Job summary

A municipal government in Metro Vancouver is seeking an Emergency Management Assistant Coordinator. This temporary full-time position requires knowledge of emergency management principles and entails assisting with programs, conducting research, and managing volunteer initiatives. Candidates should possess an Emergency Management Certificate, Grade 12 education, and a valid BC Driver's Licence. This is an opportunity to contribute to community safety and emergency preparedness programs until September 30, 2027.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by an Emergency Management Certificate plus considerable related experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of the Emergency Management Program's principles and regulations.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and delivery of emergency preparedness programs.
  • Conduct research and analyze information pertaining to the program.
  • Coordinate the City’s emergency management volunteer program.
  • Plan and participate in emergency exercises as required.
