Job summary

QNX, a BlackBerry Limited company, seeks a Systems Software Developer on the Middleware team to design, implement, and maintain VirtIO virtual devices and related components for real-time embedded platforms.

You will collaborate with hardware vendors and customer teams to deliver low-latency, high-throughput middleware while supporting the functional safety lifecycle and ISO 26262 (ASIL D) compliance. Strong C/C++ and real-time expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven proficiency in C/C++ and real-time concepts.
• Exposure to QNX RTOS kernel, IPC, memory management is a plus.
• Familiarity with virtualization concepts (VirtIO, hypervisors) or Android AOSP framework layers is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop VirtIO virtual devices exposing virtualized hardware to guest OS.
• Collaborate with hardware vendors and Android AOSP teams on drivers, memory mappings, and interrupts.
• Provide specialized integration support and production-grade middleware solutions for customers.
