Job summary

Zebra Technologies in Montreal, Canada, is seeking a Firmware/Software Engineer, Professional I, to join our team. You will design, develop and test firmware and software for next-generation smart cameras and vision systems, with a focus on C and C++ in embedded environments.

The role is onsite with a hybrid schedule (minimum 3 days in the office weekly). You should have a bachelor's degree and 2+ years of software engineering experience, plus strong C/C++ skills and knowledge of embedded Linux.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, software engineering, electrical engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant software engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade firmware and software for smart cameras and vision systems.
• Optimize BIOS/bootloader and device drivers; develop and test firmware.
• Perform software/firmware tests and document results.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to quality standards.
• Collaborate with teams and explore AI-enabled workflows.
