Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or proof of application).
• TRB letter for permanent certification if conditional.
• Knowledge of redesigned curriculum and core competencies.
• Proven teaching experience with assessment as learning.
• Experience integrating Indigenous culture and Truth and Reconciliation principles.
• Ability to use varied teaching strategies for inclusive learning.
• Experience with experiential/inquiry learning.
• Experience teaching and supporting social-emotional learning.
• Strong classroom management and organization.
• Collaborative teamwork and engagement with community.

Responsibilities

• Teach K-7 ELL in a limited duration contract setting.
• Assess and support student learning using learning-for-all strategies.
• Integrate local Indigenous culture and First Nations principles into curriculum.
• Develop positive relationships with students, families, and the community.
