Job summary

Sun Peaks Resort is seeking a skilled Boot Fitter to provide guests with customized boot fits, combining technical boot knowledge with excellent customer service. The role emphasizes in-person guest interaction at Sun Peaks and contributes to a lively, customer-focused environment.

The position requires extensive boot fitting experience, strong inventory control, and comfort working both independently and within a team to maintain high service standards in a fast-paced ski resort setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in ski retail operations, including 1+ year boot fitting.
• Extensive knowledge of ski boot modification and fitting.
• Confident, self-motivated with a positive attitude.
• Able to work unsupervised and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong inventory management and familiarity with POS systems.
• Community-focused mindset and a passion for the outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Outfit guests and staff with rental equipment and sell retail products.
• Assess feet and communicate recommendations for boots, insoles or alterations.
• Use boot fitting tools to adjust boots, insoles or liners based on assessments.
• Assist management with training staff in boot-fitting techniques.
• Ensure health and safety policies are followed per SPRLLP guidelines.
• Adhere to SPRLLP policies as outlined in the Employee handbook.

As a Boot Fitter at Elevation, you’ll play a key role in providing guests with a personalized and comfortable ski experience while contributing to a vibrant and energetic work environment. Your expertise will allow you to assess, recommend, and custom-fit ski boots tailored to each guest’s unique physiology and skiing style. By combining technical skills with outstanding customer service, you'll help create memorable experiences for our guests while supporting a positive and rewarding workplace. If you’re passionate about skiing and love working with people, this role offers the perfect balance of craftsmanship and guest interaction.

Compensation Information:

$23.35 per hour (depending on experience)

Physical Requirement:

Light; work activities involve handling loads up to 10 kg; predominantly in an indoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

This role is eligible for an incentive for successful applicants to receive $1 per hour worked based on completion of a full winter season contract. Conditions apply to this incentive and will be shared during the interview and onboarding.

Skills you bring with you:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in ski retail operations, with at least 1 year spent boot fitting.
• Extensive knowledge of ski boot modification, technology and fitting.
• Confident, self-motivated and able to maintain an outgoing, positive attitude.
• Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment.
• Thorough knowledge of inventory management and computerized Point-of-Sale systems.
• A community-focused mindset and a passion for the outdoors.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Additional responsibilities which include but are not limited to – outfitting guests and staff with rental equipment, selling retail products, and effectively displaying merchandise.
• Responsible for carrying out assessments and effectively communicating recommendations of the appropriate boots, insoles or alterations.
• Utilization of boot fitting tools and techniques to adjust and modify a guest’s boots, insoles or liners based on assessments.
• Assist management with training staff in boot-fitting techniques.
• Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to according to SPRLLP guidelines and relevant regulatory bodies.
• Ensure all SPRLLP policies are adhered to as outlined in the current Employee handbook.
