Job summary

Oxford Learning Burlington North in Burlington, ON is seeking part-time Elementary Teacher-Tutors to support students after school and on Saturdays. You will guide up to three students at various levels using our pre-planned lessons and proprietary methods.

Responsibilities include online and in-person instruction, post-lesson notes, and daily parent/student updates. A Bachelor’s degree or related certification is required, with teaching certification a plus and strong English skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
• Teaching certification an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 9 curriculum.

Part-Time Elementary Teacher/Tutor Wanted

We are currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre at Oxford Learning Burlington North. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language and social studies and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas. Our hours count! Gain valuable teaching experience!

Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours Mon - Thur (3:00pm - 8:00pm) as well as Saturday mornings (9:00am - 12:00pm) 2-3 evenings per week for a 3-4 hour shift. A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 9 (or equivalent) level
