West Vancouver Schools is seeking an Education Assistant-Individual(s) to support students with diverse needs within the classroom or learning support room, following their IEPs under the guidance of a teacher/LST. The role emphasizes safety, personal care when required, and collaboration with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 graduation required.
• Post-secondary training in Special Education Assistant or related courses.
• Experience & training supporting ABA programs.
• Ability to work with diverse students and maintain relationships with parents and staff.
• Valid BC driver's license.
• Good organizational and communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to operate various types of specialized equipment.
• Flexibility for a variety of assignments.
• Familiarity with office equipment and PCs.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and implementation of student IEP adaptations.
• Assist in classroom or learning support room under supervision.
• Maintain student safety and provide personal assistance when required.
• Assist with movement/positioning of students as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and Learning Support Teacher.
• May support community activities and transportation.
