Job Title: Electronics Technician
Job Description

Join our production operations team in Victoria, BC, as an Experienced Electronics Technician. You will play a crucial role in electronics manufacturing, utilizing your technical expertise and communication skills to produce high-quality products.

Work Environment

Work in a small office/shop environment with a production team of four and three engineers upstairs. Enjoy a casual atmosphere with no PPE requirements, allowing you to wear anything you'd like. Benefit from flexible starting times and a competitive salary.

Responsibilities
  • Build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems.
  • Assemble final products, experimental circuitry, or complete prototype models according to engineering instructions and technical manuals.
  • Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
  • Set up standard test apparatus or devise test equipment and circuitry for functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
  • Analyze and interpret test data.
  • Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components, recording effects on unit performance.
  • Write technical reports and develop charts, graphs, and schematics to illustrate system operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.
  • Handle shipping and receiving of products.
  • Repair returned products and rework new stock.
  • Update and maintain the RMA system.
  • Learn Manufacturing Assembly, including testing, manual component/product assembly, product packaging, and identifying electronic components and accessories.
  • Build and maintain test fixtures.
  • Ensure quality control and reject products outside specifications.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas.
  • Communicate effectively with team members.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of technician experience.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Excellent fine pitch soldering skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to follow work instructions.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Minimum college certificate in electronics.
  • Ability to operate various hand and power tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous electrical assembly experience is a nice-to-have.
