The Electronics Technician is responsible for the scheduled maintenance, installation, adjustment, calibration, testing, fabrication, troubleshooting and repair of all Signaling and Telecommunications systems required to maintain a safe and reliable SkyTrain operation.
As per WorkSafeBC regulations, this job requires an annual fit test and may necessitate the use of a respirator. In either case, the employee must be clean shaven. Any exemption requests should be raised to Occupational Health and/or Labour Relations for consideration.
Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.
40 hours per week. The position follows a 4-day workweek with 3 consecutive days off, 10 hour days. Shifts will either run from Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday. The selected candidate will likely begin on the graveyard shift. Over time, and depending on seniority, there may be opportunities to transition to morning or afternoon shifts.
Resident. This position works predominately on‑site.
Wage: $58.27 per hour. Please note: All new employees will be subject to a 6‑week trainee rate at 75% of the hourly rate with the remainder of the first year at 90% of the hourly rate. The Total Compensation Package includes Extended Health, Dental, Transit Pass and enrollment in the Public Service Pension Plan.
