Role Overview:

SecondShop is looking for an Electronics Technician to be a key part of our Refurbishment Program. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and refurbishing a variety of household electronics to ensure they meet our high-quality standards. You will work closely with the operations team to ensure electronics are tested, repaired, and restored to excellent working condition for resale.

What you'll be doing:

  • Diagnose, repair, and refurbish household electronics including televisions and other consumer electronics.
  • Perform routine inspections and testing to assess the condition of electronics and identify issues that need repair or refurbishment.
  • Replace faulty components, clean, and restore electronic to meet quality standards before resale.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure a smooth workflow and meet refurbishment deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs and parts used for inventory and tracking purposes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, electronic technologies, and repair techniques to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Troubleshoot complex electronic issues and provide recommendations for repairs or replacements as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all repair and refurbishment activities.

Who we are looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in electronics repair or a similar technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of common household electronics and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with diagnosing and repairing a wide range of electronic issues.
  • Technical certification or training in electronics repair is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently while meeting quality standards and deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality repairs.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and cleanliness in the workplace.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
