Pegasus is seeking an Electronics Engineering Research Specialist to design, develop, and validate aerospace sensing platforms across the hardware lifecycle. You’ll work with firmware, mechanical, and systems teams to deliver high-reliability sensors for mission-critical flight safety applications.
This two-year, Mitacs Accelerate–funded role with the University of Alberta involves hands-on hardware development and cross-disciplinary collaboration to advance next‑generation sensing technologies.
Pegasus is an aerospace and defense technology company developing advanced sensing and alerting systems that connect pilots and aircraft like never before. Our flagship technology, MIDAS, provides real-time flight safety insights to military and commercial operators, enabling safer operations in even the harshest conditions. Backed by major defense primes and government partners, Pegasus is entering a critical growth phase in 2027 — and we’re expanding our engineering team to deliver the next generation of intelligent, connected flight safety systems.
We’re looking for a hands‑on Electronics Engineering Research Specialist to assist with the design, development, and validation of next-generation aerospace sensing platforms. You’ll contribute to the full hardware lifecycle — from concept and schematic design through prototyping, testing, and production handoff — working closely with firmware, mechanical, and systems teams.
This role is ideal for a recent Ph.D. graduate with a deep understanding of sensor design – whether electromagnetic, ultrasonic, or electro‑optical – who’s ready to learn and grow within a multidisciplinary aerospace engineering environment.
You’ll help build reliable, low‑power electronic sensors that enable flight safety in challenging and mission‑critical applications.
This is a full‑time position for a term of two years, supported by the Mitacs Accelerate program in collaboration with the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Engineering.
Pegasus is defining the next era of intelligent flight. As an Electronics Engineering Research Specialist, you’ll contribute to technologies that enhance global aviation safety and reliability. You’ll work alongside talented engineers across software, systems, and data disciplines — helping to build hardware that flies in some of the world’s most advanced aircraft.
