Job summary

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a detail-oriented robotics labeling specialist to annotate video sessions of robotic arms, marking start/end times for actions and events, and judging task success. You will flag unclear cases for project managers and explain failures using understanding of motion, perception, and sensors.

Candidates should have a robotics or engineering background with hands-on experience and demonstrate clear written and verbal communication for remote teamwork and guideline

Qualifications

• Background in robotics, mechanical/electronics engineering or related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with robotic arms or robotic systems in industry, research or lab settings.
• Strong understanding of robot motion control, grasping, perception and sensors.
• Ability to distinguish correct vs. faulty robot behavior by watching sessions.

Responsibilities

• Watch video recordings and annotate tasks following detailed guidelines.
• Tag actions, events, and errors, marking when each action starts/ends.
• Judge task success and label failures (missed grasps, drops, poor paths).
• Apply labeling rules consistently across sessions and flag unclear cases for PMs.

Job description

• Watch video recordings of robotic arms performing tasks and annotate them following a detailed set of guidelines.
• Tag actions, events, and errors in each video session, marking where each action starts and ends.
• Judge whether the robot completed the task correctly, and label failures such as missed grasps, dropped objects, poor paths, or inaccurate positioning.
• Apply the labeling rules the same way across every session so the data stays consistent.
• Flag unclear or borderline cases to project managers instead of guessing, and help resolve them.
• Use your knowledge of robot motion, perception, sensors, and integration to explain what went wrong when a robot fails.
• Suggest improvements to the annotation guidelines when you find gaps or repeated confusion.

Requirements

• Background in robotics, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with robotic arms or robotic systems, whether in industry, research, or lab settings.
• Solid understanding of robot motion control, grasping, perception, and sensors.
• Able to tell the difference between correct and faulty robot behavior just by watching it.
• Strong attention to detail and the patience to stay consistent across long sessions of similar footage.
• Comfortable following written technical guidelines precisely.
• Clear written and verbal communication for working with a remote team.
