Job summary

Blackline Safety is seeking a skilled Electronics Assembler to join our Calgary facility. You will perform a variety of assembly tasks including soldering, testing, and packaging, guided by engineering drawings and work instructions.

We value individuals with a high school diploma, strong attention to detail, and experience in electronics assembly. The role requires standing for extended periods and a CSA safety footwear requirement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proven experience in electronic assembly, soldering, and component integration is preferred.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic components and sub-assemblies per drawings and work instructions.
  • Perform soldering tasks and wire routing on PCBs.
  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure quality and identify defects.
  • Perform functional tests and troubleshoot issues with QA team.
  • Maintain production and quality control documentation.
  • Handle materials and organize components for accuracy and inventory control.
  • Keep workstation clean and report malfunctions promptly.
  • Follow safety protocols and report any safety concerns.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and timelines.

Job description

Our team at Blackline Safety is growing! Blackline Safety is currently hiring skilled Electronics Assemblers to perform a variety of assembly tasks including soldering, test, assembly and packaging. This role reports to our facility in Calgary, Alberta and is not remote.

Key Responsibilities
  • Component Assembly: Assemble electronic components and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Use precision hand tools, soldering irons, and other equipment to perform intricate assembly tasks.
  • Soldering and Wiring: Perform soldering tasks to connect and secure electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCBs). Follow wiring diagrams and instructions to connect and route wires and cables within electronic assemblies.
  • Quality Control: Conduct visual inspections of components and finished assemblies to ensure adherence to quality standards. Identify and rectify any defects or discrepancies during the assembly process.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct functional tests on completed electronic assemblies. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues identified during testing.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, configurations, and test results. Complete production and quality control documentation as required.
  • Material Handling: Manage and organize electronic components, ensuring proper storage and inventory control. Notify supervisors of any shortages or discrepancies in materials.
  • Workstation Maintenance: Keep workstations clean, organized, and equipped with necessary tools and materials. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Adherence to Safety Standards: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety concerns or incidents to supervisors.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to meet production goals and timelines.
About You

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications in electronics assembly is a plus. Proven experience in electronic assembly, soldering, and component integration. Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics. Attention to detail and precision in manual assembly tasks. Proficiency in using hand tools, soldering equipment, and other assembly tools. Basic understanding of electronic components and their functions. Ability to work in a team-based manufacturing environment. Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines. Ability to stand for extended periods in a production or manufacturing environment.

Required Footwear Safety Shoe Requirement

This position requires the use of CSA Grade 1 toe protection safety footwear. Applicants must have access to a pair of safety footwear that meets this requirement prior to starting employment.
