Job summary

Agfa Inkjet Solutions is seeking an Electronical Assembler to contribute to inkjet printer manufacturing. You will assemble components using hand tools, test electrical assemblies, and ensure quality through inspection and documentation.

The role requires reading drawings, wiring, and troubleshooting while operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, an electrical trade certificate, and 1–4 years of assembly experience in manufacturing.

Job description

Electronical Assembler will be directly involved in the manufacturing of inkjet printers. Responsible for assembling components using a variety of hand tools, manufacturing aids, systems and processes to meet the current production schedule. Use specialized measuring and diagnostic devices to evaluate how electrical equipment/circuits are working; build or calibrate instrumentation; build electronic assemblies/circuits based on electrical schematics; inspect for problems; and troubleshoot electrical circuits and electrical/mechanical assemblies.

What You'll Do (Job Duties & Responsibilities):

  • Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to assemble equipment systematically.
  • Wire and test electrical assemblies and cables following engineering schematics.
  • Collaborate with team members to assemble pre-fabricated components and sub-assemblies, using drawings, schematics, bill of materials, and work instructions to complete builds.
  • Work effectively either as part of a team of assemblers and technicians or independently to produce quality products and assemblies.
  • Perform multiple inspections and quality checks in accordance with the Quality SOP.
  • Assist colleagues with on-the-job training, knowledge sharing, and learning.
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues and find effective solutions.
  • Participate actively in a 6S work environment.
  • Follow all Health and Safety procedures diligently.
  • Report production work orders promptly and accurately.
  • Complete all necessary documentation for quality assurance and progress tracking.

What You'll Bring (Education & Experience):

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Technical trade school certificate, Electrical.
  • 1-4 years of experience as an assembler in a manufacturing-type environment.

Specific skills:

  • Must have strong problem-solving and electrical circuit troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of electrical principles, standards, and safety operating procedures.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor and as a member of a team as required.
  • Ability to follow directions and learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to look for problems in complicated electrical grids/circuits, isolate the issue and resolve issues.
  • Manual Dexterity: Working with wires, using hand tools and handling small components requires manual dexterity. Using calibration equipment and wires to build electrical systems.
  • Ability to properly terminate and crimp prepared wiring harness following work instruction and wiring schematic.
