Job summary

AVL Manufacturing Inc. in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Drafter to create and update electrical drawings and schematics, including BOMs and installation details.

You will collaborate with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery. This role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical, knowledge of SolidWorks, and the ability to read Electrical Schematics.

Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks; experience a plus.
• Experience reading Electrical Schematics and GA’s.
• Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code is an asset.
• Familiarity with drafting standards and symbols.
• Able to read technical documents and MS Office.
• Understand OHSA and how it impacts product quality.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AutoCAD Electrical drawing standards, symbol libraries, and parts catalogues.
• Create and update electrical drawings, schematics and reports under engineers.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings for manufacturing and installation.
• Develop Electro-Mechanical layouts in SolidWorks under supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

Job Description:

The Electro-Mechanical Drafter Creates and updates electrical drawings and schematics, prepares detailed working diagrams of Electrical equipment and installations, including dimensions, BOM, and other engineering information. The Electro-Mechanical Drafter works closely with both Electrical and Mechanical Engineers/Designers to accuracy of drawing packages.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee AutoCAD Electrical drawing standards, symbol libraries, and parts catalogues.
• Under direction of Electrical Engineers and Designers, create and update electrical drawings, schematics and reports.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings for manufacturing and installation.
• In SolidWorks, under direction of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers/Designers, develop and update Electro-Mechanical Layouts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Proficient in AutoCAD and AutoCAD ELECTRICAL
• Knowledge of SolidWorks, experience would be an asset.
• Experience reading and interpreting Electrical Schematics and GA’s.
• Familiarity of Canadian Electrical Code would be an asset.
• Familiarity with drafting standards and symbols.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Demonstrate knowledge and an understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
