Job summary

Stuart Olson Inc. is seeking a Journeyperson Electrician to join our SAGD D facility project in the Conklin area. Camp accommodations provided, travel allowance of $300 per shift rotation is offered.

Immediate start with a team that prioritizes safety and quality workmanship. The role requires reading electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings, installing and maintaining electrical systems, and working from height with ladders and scaffolding.

Qualifications

• Must have reliable transportation to camp and be able to drive.
• Construction/installation experience; SAGD or Oil & Gas facility preferred.
• Valid government-issued photo ID.
• Completion of client mandatory site training requirements, ESC Permits, Isolations and Lockouts.
• Strong mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities.
• Safety-focused with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must provide a Fitness for Duty.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications.
• Pulls cable/wire through conduits and cable trays.
• Installs, replaces, maintains, and repairs electrical systems and related equipment.
• Performs cable glanding and terminations.
• Does Point to Point verifications to ensure integrity and safety of installations.
• Work at heights, off ground with ladders, scaffolding and AWP as needed.
• Measures, cuts, fab and installs cable trays.
• Installs heat trace systems and components.
• Installs light fixtures, junction boxes and miscellaneous equipment (5–50 lbs).
• May perform other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications
• Pulling cable/wire through conduits and cable trays
• Installs, replaces, maintains, and repairs electrical systems and related electrical equipment
• Cable glanding and Terminations
• Point to Point verifications to ensure integrity and safety of installations
• Ability to work off ground, with ladders, scaffolding and AWP
• Ability to measure, cut, fab and install cable trays
• Installation of heat trace, and heat trace components
• Installation of light fixtures, junction boxes and miscellaneous pieces of equipment ranging in various weights from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
• May perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must have reliable transportation to be able to drive to camp
• Must have project/construction experience; ideally working in a SAGD, or Oil and Gas Facility
• Valid government-issued photo ID
• Completion of client mandatory site training requirements, ESC Permits, Isolations and Lockouts
• Strong mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities
• Positive attitude towards safety with the ability to work collaboratively
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Will be required to provide a Physical Fitness for Duty

Working Conditions

• Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
• Working at heights
• Working in and around noise and dust
• Lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Must be clean shaven
• Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots,
