Job summary

Valard Construction in Calgary, AB is seeking Electricians (Journeyperson or Apprentice) to join our Substation group. These roles involve hands-on work at project sites, building and upgrading high‑voltage electrical facilities for distribution networks and renewable energy projects.

Ideal candidates are safety-focused, adaptable to travel, and capable of reading blueprints and understanding SCADA systems. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel or rotate shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Electrician certification OR Registered Apprentice Electrician.
• Experience in utility construction is an asset.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control.
• Ability to read blueprints and understanding of SCADA systems.
• Understanding of EB&G principles and lock out / tag out procedures.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel and accommodate multiple shift rotations.

Responsibilities
