Job summary

Cosma International, part of Magna, is seeking an Industrial Electrician in Brampton to support automotive tooling and system integration. The role focuses on electrical schematics, PLCs, and the installation of panels and equipment within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

You will troubleshoot CNC machinery, read blueprints, and mentor Electrical Apprentices while ensuring safety and quality standards across ISO-compliant processes.

Qualifications

• Recognized Certificate of Qualification as Industrial Electrician or Construction and Maintenance Electrician.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in automotive tooling and integration.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and blueprints.

Job Responsibilities:

PAY RANGE :

$35-37/hr

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Recognized Certificate of Qualification as Industrial Electrician or Construction and Maintenance Electrician
• Minimum 3 years’ experience required in automotive tooling and integration

CORE COMPETENCIES:

• Good knowledge of the electrical code, blue print reading and electrical schematics
• Knowledge of programming robots, Motoman, Fanuc, ABB and Nachi
• Familiar with trouble shooting precision equipment, motors (AC & DC), Boring Mills and PLC
• Must be able to use hand tools (pipe benders, hydraulic knock-out, crimpers, and soldering iron)
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Must have own tools
• Ability to work as a team member and individually
• Ability to manage multiple tasks within the trade

TRAINING NEEDS:

• Orientation, WHMIS, Crane, Forklift, Propane, Aerial Equipment, Lockout Procedure
• ISO 9001 Awareness and Departmental Policy and Procedure Requirements, On-the-job development

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create and maintain Product Bill of Materials
• Read and interpret electrical blue prints, schematics and specifications
• Teach robots
• Troubleshoot CNC machines
• Anticipate and solve problems
• Operate various tools and equipment (genie lift, drill press, hydraulic bender, megger)
• Panel building
• Machine wiring
• Start-up & debug
• Provide continuous guidance and training to Electrical Apprentices as assigned
• Perform office wiring and building maintenance as required
• Pipe bending
• Prioritize steps within the job to accomplish tasks in a reasonable amount of time
• Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner and know how to properly lock out all energy sources, including stored energy
• Consult your Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor if you are not 100% sure of how to perform tasks in a safe manner
• Follow all safety rules, standards and procedures at all times in all areas
• Know what types of Personal Protective Equipment are required for the jobs in your area and always use them properly
• Ensure that your work area is kept clean, tidy and organized at all times to prevent accidents and produce quality products
• Report all unusual circumstances and actively participate in and support Continuous Improvements
• Follow all ISO Standard Operating Procedures to ensure world class quality products are supplied to our customers
• Perform other related duties as required

WORKING CONDITIONS :

• Office and shop floor environment
• Overtime hours may be required
• Day/overnight and/or extended travel required
