Electrician / Instrumentation

The following position is open in Alberta, Canada.

Role Responsibilities
  • The successful applicant will be part of a rotating shift schedule, where every four weeks includes one week of evening shifts, and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Responsible for maintaining, installing, calibrating and troubleshooting of all electrical and instrumentation equipment to ensure efficient and effective operation of production equipment.
  • Maintain equipment and update records.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to equipment and process.
  • Be actively involved with improvements and root cause problem solving.
  • Participate in daily huddles, actively discuss safety, quality and performance issues and suggestions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Compliance with standard operating procedures, legal and other requirements including health and safety, fire protection, environmental, quality, security and continual improvement programs.
  • Registered Journeyman Electrician certificate and Instrumentation certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Automation and PLC Control Logix 5000 experience.
  • Availability to work shifts, occasional call-ins and overtime is required.
  • Physical requirements: able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, ladders, catwalks, work in confined areas, and be exposed to wind, dust, heights, hot and cold temperatures, etc.

Note: This position is part of the United Food and Commercial Workers Canada Union, Local No. 401. The hourly rate for this position is $46.93 per hour. Occasional call-in and overtime will be required.
