Job summary

Dometic is seeking an Electrician to join the Vancouver team, working on installs, maintenance, tests, troubleshooting and repairs of electrical equipment and control systems. You will help ensure heavy machinery runs safely, minimize downtime, and comply with electrical codes and safety regulations.

The role involves supporting production and development of new manufacturing cells and test centers, with hands-on duties spanning wiring, testing, and diagnostics in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

  • Completion of 5-year industrial apprenticeship program or equivalent education.
  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude: High proficiency using hand/power tools and understanding mechanical systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Physical Stamina: Able to stand, climb ladders, lift heavy equipment in varied environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exemplary ethics, integrity, and accountability.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, replace, or repair electrical wiring, conduits, switchgear, transformers, and electrical motors.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
  • Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, reactors and electrical systems.
  • Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, batteries and hydraulic/pneumatic control systems.
  • Use diagnostic testing devices to pinpoint failures and fix them promptly.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and complex electrical drawings.
  • Service PLCs and automated control systems; setup/maintain PLCs and field wiring.

We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Electrician. This position reports to Facilities Managerand will work in Vancouver, B.C.

Dometic Marine’s headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.

As Electrician on the Vancouver team, you will be involved in installs, maintains , tests, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical equipment, wiring, and control systems. They ensure heavy machinery runs safely, minimize production downtime, and must strictly comply with electrical codes and safety regulations . Supports ongoing production and development of new manufacturing cells and design test centers.

General Responsibilities

  • Set up, replace, or repair electrical wiring, conduits, switchgear, transformers, and electrical motors.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
  • Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators,reactorsand electrical systems .
  • Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems .

Troubleshooting:

  • Use diagnostic testing devices to pinpoint electrical/electronic failures and fix them promptly.
  • Troubleshoot,maintainand repair industrial,electricaland electronic control systems and other related devices

Preventive Maintenance

  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment to prevent system breakdowns.
  • Conduct maintenance programs and keep records

Reading Schematics

  • Interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and complex electrical drawings.

Automation

  • Service Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automated industrial control systems
  • May set up andmaintainprogrammable logic controller (PLC), field wiring
  • May install,maintainand adjust industrial instrumentation and related devices
