Agilus is recruiting for an Electrician in the Industrial Equipment Supply Industry in Sudbury, Ontario.
The Journeyman Electrician - Service Technician will provide inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on electrical overhead cranes and hoists.
A typical day :
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at varied customer locations, as directed
- Conduct on-site electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic troubleshooting to determine causes of equipment malfunction and establish necessary repairs using visual inspection, test procedures, and appropriate test equipment
- Perform a general post-repair audit prior to work completion, ensuring all safety features are functional or documenting deficiencies with a deficiency tag attached to the crane
- Document findings and make corrective recommendations during safety reviews, including a written “Safety Notification” of any observed or known safety concerns, if appropriate
- Consult with customers regarding repair and safety issues, discussing recommendations to improve safety and productivity before leaving the site
- Complete and provide proper electronic documentation using established digital tools, obtaining customer signatures and acceptance
- Read, understand, and apply all relevant codes and regulations including CSA, OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI
- Maintain all company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets in safe and proper working order
Successful candidates will have :
- Journeyman Industrial Electrician certification
- Minimum of 1 year experience involving electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair; electronic experience is a plus but not necessary; prior crane experience is advantageous
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Willingness and ability to work off the ground, with varied overtime, on-call availability, and occasional travel
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently, up to 50 lbs daily, and up to 75 lbs occasionally; rare lifting of 100 lbs; physical activities include climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, overhead reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling; work environment includes inside (90%) and outside (10%), with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and heights
