A leading manufacturer of personal care amenities in Burlington is seeking an Electrician to support production by maintaining and troubleshooting electrical equipment. Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance of electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns in the production line.
  • Provide written reports for repairs and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with other trades for repair and maintenance.
  • Maintain all electrical wiring, switch gears, and production equipment.
  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Participate in improvement projects.
  • Repair, install, and align equipment.

Role Purpose

The Electrician supports production to ensure that all electrical and mechanical equipment is running properly and efficiently. They assist in troubleshooting and resolving equipment breakdowns to ensure production schedules are followed and met.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts scheduled preventative maintenance of electrical equipment, repair of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Works within a team to provide support for the production line to troubleshoot and repair breakdowns.
  • Provides written reports of work required for repairs and upgrades.
  • Participates, collaborates, and cooperates with other trades to speed up repair and maintenance.
  • Maintains all electrical wiring and switch gears sub-panels, lighting, fans, and production equipment to ensure operator safety and machine integrity.
  • Reads blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine how to proceed.
  • Participates in the implementation of various improvement projects.
  • Repairs, installs, aligns, dismantles, and moves equipment and production lines.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 442A or 309A Certificate (preferred)
  • 2-5 years of job-related experience
  • Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment an asset
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Works well in a team setting as well as the ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of electrical, automation and controls
  • Basic to moderate understanding of PLCs
Physical Demands
  • Lifting and carrying to and occasionally more than 50 pounds
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally climbing, kneeling, and crouching
