Job summary

Powertech Labs in Surrey, BC, is seeking an Electrical Testing Technologist to perform tests on electrical equipment, calibrate instruments, and support lab operations. You will set up experiments, maintain records, and ensure safety and compliance in a busy high voltage lab environment.

The role requires a Technology Certificate in Electronics and at least two years of related lab experience, with a focus on accuracy, problem solving, and teamwork in a clean-tech setting.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Technology in Electronics or related field with preference to power/control or lab disciplines.
• Two years of related lab experience setting up and performing tests on electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and carries out electrical tests on equipment, components and cables under supervision.
• Performs laboratory measurements and records results.
• Operates test instruments and maintains calibration of equipment.
• Builds or modifies test jigs and support structures.
• Specifies and purchases materials needed for routine lab operation.
• Maintains safe and organized test facilities.
• Maintains log books documenting tests and procedures.
• Performs duties across disciplines as needed.
