Job summary

ATCO Energy Systems (ATCO Electric) in Slave Lake, AB is seeking an entry level Electrical Technologist to gain hands-on experience alongside seasoned professionals. You will contribute to equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning in substations and isolated generation facilities.

You will collaborate on testing, installation, commissioning, and analysis, while developing familiarity with PLC, RTU, and HMI systems and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma is required.
• Electrical theory knowledge is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Effective time management and communication skills are essential.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance testing on equipment such as relays, transformers, and breakers.
• Assist in construction, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
• Support commissioning, repairs, and installation of distribution equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and installation activities.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment and generate detailed reports.
• Gain exposure to PLC, RTU, and HMI systems during tasks.
• Learn safety practices and participate in training sessions.
