Electrical Supervisor

The Electrical Supervisor supervises electricians and mentor trades-apprentices in the repair, maintenance, and installation of electrical systems. Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of electrical systems. Provides a full range of electrician assignments including new installations, maintenance and repair to existing wiring, electrical systems, and electrical components. Conducts general maintenance repairs as required.

The following is a list of duties relating to this position. These may be adjusted by your manager when required by the project. Your safety will always be our priority with all assigned tasks :

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all established policies, procedures, and best practices, as well as industry-specific regulations.
  • Ensure physical and mental fitness for work at all times.
  • Schedule, assign, plan, and monitor the work of electrical personnel performing various electrical projects.
  • Develop work schedules, equipment usage schedules, prioritize electrical expenditures, and establish procedures for equipment and appliance maintenance.
  • Oversee the acquisition and utilization of materials.
  • Maintain records of time, work orders, materials, equipment, and other electrical records, and submit reports as required.
  • When required, participate in the execution of electrical tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and replace faulty components.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and maintain maintenance records.
  • Prepare and lead commissioning plans.
  • Assist with rigging and slinging plans for large electrical components.
  • Interpret electrical designs, schematics, procedures and other relevant technical information.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Minimum Experience: 10 years of electrical repair and maintenance with includes 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Certificates and Licenses: Ontario Provincial Trade License or Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) certification / Completion of Common Core for First Line Supervisor
  • Experience working in an underground mine
  • Positive attitude with the ability to lead a team in a collaborative manner
