Electrical Shift Supervisor

Location: Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada

Department: Maintenance

Role Overview: As an Electrical Shift Supervisor, you will lead maintenance teams to ensure the smooth and safe operation of our manufacturing processes. Your role will encompass hands‑on technical support, team leadership, and the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance actions to uphold equipment reliability and availability.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures the application of health, safety, and environment standards and practices.
  • Complies with HSE procedures, reports any incident or observation, performs inspections, and participates in the investigation process.
  • Responsible for performance management of direct reports by consistently applying the CBA and annual performance reviews.
  • Troubleshoots and minimizes the impact of failures on production processes by ensuring the correct diagnosis of the failure and the execution of the necessary interventions on equipment to maintain its availability and reliability.
  • Maintains a visible presence in the mill to foster employee engagement, communication and assess work process effectiveness within the team.
  • Provides on‑floor technical hands‑on support (70% or more).
  • Implements preventive and corrective actions, keeps risk analysis and environmental assessment updated.
  • Acts as a shift leader, responsible for leading employees during their assigned shift, coordinating schedules, assigning responsibilities and ensuring work safety conditions.
  • Verifies technical resource availability, ensuring a suitable minimum stock.
  • Manages and updates the maintenance information system and technical documentation, keeping records of the information related to their area.
  • Supports Base Maintenance Supervisors in executing preventive tasks during normal production and scheduled interventions.
  • Supports Base Maintenance Supervisors in executing failure analyses.Analyzes, interprets and recommends courses of action for complex topics.
  • Interacts with internal and/or external contacts with higher level of autonomy.
  • Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensures adherence with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Proactively motivates, coaches, communicates with and develops staff and manages HR related activities in line with HR norms and procedures; protects facilities, equipment and other physical resources from damage, theft or misuse.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years experience in industrial maintenance, trades work or hands‑on engineering technician (asset).
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Post‑secondary education in Electrical Trade (442a preferred), Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environment safety procedures.
  • Previous experience with PLC, VFD, sensors and High Frequency heating equipment (asset).
  • Previous experience with SAP (asset).
Schedule & Working Conditions
  • 12‑hr rotational shift, with flexibility based on business needs.
  • Work performed in a steel manufacturing mill.
