Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Deliver rolling stock modification programmes in line with engineering instructions.
  • Undertaking installation, maintenance, servicing and repair activities.
  • Supporting commissioning, testing and acceptance processes.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults.
  • Recording maintenance activities through the depot maintenance management system.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the depot.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 7:00am-5:00pm | 50 Hours per Week | Friday Hours Paid at Overtime Rate

We're recruiting for experienced Modification Technicians (Electrical Bias) to support a major rolling stock modification programme at a leading London depot. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled team delivering critical upgrade, maintenance and commissioning activities across a modern train fleet.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for carrying out planned electrical modifications, servicing, fault rectification and commissioning activities, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

  • Delivering rolling stock modification programmes in line with engineering instructions.
  • Undertaking installation, maintenance, servicing and repair activities.
  • Supporting commissioning, testing and acceptance processes.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults.
  • Recording maintenance activities through the depot maintenance management system.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the depot.
  • Working to strict safety and quality standards in a safety-critical environment.
What We're Looking For
  • Engineering Apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), covering electrical engineering
  • Experience working in maintenance, overhaul, modification or production environments
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience using maintenance management systems.
  • Excellent safety awareness within a regulated engineering environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
