Job summary

Tenaris in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, seeks an Electrical Patrol Supervisor to lead maintenance teams and ensure safe, reliable production. You will provide hands-on technical support and drive preventive and corrective actions to maximize equipment availability.

You’ll work a 12-hour rotational schedule (days and nights) in a steel mill, read electrical and mechanical drawings, coordinate maintenance tasks, and mentor staff while upholding HSE standards and Tenaris policies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in industrial maintenance or related hands-on roles.
• 5+ years in a manufacturing setting are preferred.
• Post-secondary education in Electrical Trade or equivalent.
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with safety procedures in manufacturing environments.
• Experience with PLC, VFD, sensors or high-frequency heating equipment is a plus.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, motors is advantageous.
• Experience with SAP is beneficial.

Electrical Patrol Supervisor

LOCATION: Sault Ste Marie- Ontario -Canada

DEPARTMENT: MAINTENANCE

Role

As Electrical Patrol Supervisor, you will lead maintenance teams to ensure the smooth and safe operation of our manufacturing processes. Your role will encompass hands‑on technical support, team leadership, and the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance actions to uphold equipment reliability and availability.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures the application of health, safety and environment standards and practices.
• Complies with HSE procedures, report any incident or observation, perform inspections, and participate in the investigation process.
• Responsible for performance management of direct reports by consistently applying the CBA and annual performance reviews.
• Troubleshoots and minimizes the impact of failures on production processes by ensuring the correct diagnosis of the failure and the execution of the necessary interventions on equipment to maintain its availability and reliability.
• Maintain a visible presence in the mill to foster employee engagement, communication and assess work process effectiveness within the team.
• On production floor technical hands‑on support expected to be 70% or more.
• Implements the preventive/corrective actions. Keep updated the risk analysis and the environmental aspect assessment.
• Acts as a "shift leader" being responsible for leading employees during their assigned time period/shift, coordinating schedules, assigning responsibilities and ensure work safety conditions.
• Verifies technical resource availability, ensuring a suitable minimum stock.
• Manages and updates the maintenance information system and technical documentation, keeping record of the information related to their area.
• Support Base Maintenance Supervisors in the execution of preventive tasks during the normal course of production and/or scheduled interventions.
• Support Base Maintenance Supervisors in the execution of failure analyses.
• Analyzes, interprets and recommends courses of action for more complex topics.
• Interacts with internal and/or external contacts with a higher level of autonomy.
• Complies with Tenaris policies, procedures and management standards, and ensures adherence with all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.
• Proactively motivates, coaches, communicates with and develops their staff and manages HR related activities in line with HR norms and procedures. Protects from damage, theft or misuse the facilities, equipment and other physical resourcesassigned to their area.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience in industrial maintenance, trades work or hands‑on engineering technician is an asset.
• 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Post-secondary education in Electrical Trade (442a preferred) or relevant technician diploma/certification.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with manufacturing environment safety procedures.
• Previous experience with PLC, VFD, sensors and High Frequency heating equipment considered an asset.
• Previous experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, motors, etc. considered an asset.
• Previous experience with SAP considered an asset.

Scope of Machines & Equipment:

Finishing: Industrial online pipe cutting machine, hydro tester equipment for oil and gas pipes, online coupling buck on machine for oil and gas pipes, walking beam handling equipment, roll conveyor lines, gearboxes, hydraulic cylinders, grease lubrication systems, and oil hydraulic systems, pumps and valves (directional and proportional).

Hot Rolling Mill: Oil hydraulic systems, pumps and valves (directional and proportional), centralized lubrication systems, grease Lubrication systems, roll conveyor lines, industrial pipe handling (rotary arms, chains, levers and kicks), gearboxes above 1700 kW, hydraulic cylinders and rotary actuators, furnace handling (beams, levers, rolls refractory steel), and walking beam systems.

Schedule & Working Conditions:

• 12hr rotational shift, days & nights, with flexibility based on business needs.
• Work is performed in a steel manufacturing mill.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $93,000.00 – $117,000.00 annually.

Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and qualifications, as well as internal equity and market considerations.
