Job summary

Summer Fresh Salads is seeking a Maintenance Technician – Electrical in Canada to inspect, install, troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems in our Woodbridge facility. The role covers motors, drives, PLCs, sensors and power systems, with 12‑hour day/night shifts and a strong emphasis on safety and production uptime.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of related experience, a Licensed Industrial Electrician credential, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ previous related experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office related applications, i.e. Excel, Outlook is required.
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems and food manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Consult manufacturer’s manuals, circuit diagrams and blueprints to determine tests and maintenance procedures for instruments used for measuring and controlling flow, level, pressure, temperature, and other variables in packaging and processing.
• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machine and the plant facility equipment.
• Plan installations from blueprints, sketches and specifications and install all electrical and electronic devices.
• Systematically diagnose faults in electrical and electronic systems and equipment and repair or replace electrical and electronic components as required.
• Measure, cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits and other electrical conductor raceways; splice and terminate electrical conductors.
• Test electrical and electronic equipment for proper function.
• Repair and adjust system components, such as sensors, transmitters and programmable logic controllers, or remove and replace defective parts.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Perform electrical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Manage all work orders assigned and make sure that at least 80% of the daily working hours are covered by hours allocated to work orders.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Comply with food safety requirements when working in production area.
• Consult with and advise operators.
