Description

We are currently looking for a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to deploy and maintain industrial controls and automation systems and electrical equipment for our commercial plant located in Delta, BC (Tilbury Island). The individual will have experience in installation and servicing of controls instrumentation and PLC architecture, as well as AC and DC electrical equipment. The Technician will work with our Process Engineering, Operations and Maintenance teams to perform both regular preventative maintenance and corrective repairs to our equipment and facilities, in addition to executing upgrades to expand the functionality of our systems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to follow the process of commissioning and maintaining the equipment through the startup of a first of its kind production facility.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that our safety and environmental rules and programs are consistently adhered to.
  • Maintain, diagnose and repair automation and control systems
  • Assist with planning of upgrade and maintenance projects
  • Assemble bills of materials for related work
  • Execute on electrical and control system projects
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical systems
  • Participate in testing and commissioning of new electrical and control systems
  • Perform tests and calibration of electrical devices, instruments and components in application to industrial equipment
  • Maintain service and calibration records through accurate documentation
Requirements:
  • Completion of an industrial electrician or instrumentation apprenticeship or combination of over 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Red Seal certified as either an Industrial Electrician or Instrumentation Control Technician is an asset
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical and controls systems
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with electrochemical technology is an asset
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance challenges
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
Working Conditions

This position may require shifts and weekend work

Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds

Ability to walk, stand, and perform manual labour for extended periods
