Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon in Calgary is seeking an Electrical Field Services Technician/Technologist to join our team. You will work with project teams on electrical field projects, delivering commissioning, repair and maintenance of primary and secondary power equipment to ensure client satisfaction.

The role involves high travel (75%), a focus on safety, and collaboration across diverse environments, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and client-facing reporting.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering Degree, PSE (Power Systems Electrician) or Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma required.
• 2 years of hands-on field experience commissioning, testing or maintaining power delivery equipment (breakers, switchgear, relays, transformers).
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel frequently.
• Ability to work safely on low, medium, and high voltage systems in various environments.

Responsibilities

• Work safely on low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems in diverse environments (commercial, utilities, manufacturing, mining, oil & gas).
• Commissioning, repair and maintenance of primary and secondary power equipment including circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, protective relays.
• Confidently operate various brands of test and troubleshooting equipment.
• Collaborate with project teams and provide support.
• Uphold safe work practices and document technical reports for clients.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Field Services Technician / Technologist towork within our Calgary team. The successful candidate will be accountable to work with project teams on electrical field projects; ultimately providing exceptional client experiences through commissioning, repair and maintenance of primary and secondary power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and effectively on low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems in a variety of environments, including commercial, utilities, manufacturing, mining, pipeline and oil andgas
• Commissioning, repair and maintenance of primary and secondary powerequipment including circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, protective relays,etc.
• Confidently work with various brands of test and troubleshootingequipment
• Work with project teams effectively through collaboration, support, and teamfocus
• Ensure safe work process is executed with each job and a culture of safety isfostered
• Ensure completion of technical reports and follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and completeness ofwork
• Ability to interact with clients in a courteous and professionalmanner
• Identify and implement processimprovements

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering Degree, PSE (Power Systems Electrician) or Electrical Engineering TechnologyDiploma
• 2 year of hands-on field experience commissioning, testing or maintaining powerdelivery equipment, including breakers, switchgear, relays, transformers required
• Knowledge in commercial, industrial and utilityenvironments
• Experience working withinteams
• Self-motivated, self-managed, flexible and driven
• Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Officeapplications
• Strong problem solving skills, and the ability to work with minimalsupervision
• Excellent time management skills with an attention todetail
• The ability to work flexible shifts, which include weekends, evenings and statutory holidays
• Must have a valid driverslicense
• Ability and willingness to travel and to be out of town frequently
