Job summary

SCIEX, a Danaher operating company, seeks an Electrical Engineering Technologist to support hardware development in Concord, Ontario. This on-site role collaborates with Electrical Designers and procurement to advance research-grade hardware and rapid prototyping.

You will build and test electrical components, generate BOMs, assemble cables, and help qualify PCBAs, test fixtures, and circuits. Eligibility for OACETT and CAD software experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering Technologist diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Proficiency in cable harness assembly and soldering (SMD/through-hole).
• Knowledge of building and operating custom electronics test setups.

The Electrical Engineering Technologist is responsible for assisting Electrical Designers/Engineers in the development and qualification of research and engineering-grade electrical hardware. In this role you will advance your hardware development skills as part of an industry leading research and development team. This position reports to the Manager, Electrical Hardware Development Operations, and is part of the MS Hardware Development team located in Concord, Ontario, Canada, and will be an on-site role.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

• Collaborate with Electrical Designers and procurement teams to evaluate suitability and availability of electronic components for hardware development.


• Generate BOM list of components for procurement and prepare electronics components kits to enable rapid prototyping with our PCBA contract manufacturers while maintaining laboratory stock, including equipment registration, organization, and calibration upkeep.


• Development and operation of engineering grade test fixtures under supervision of Electrical Designers; Test, Debug & repair of electrical modules and circuits as part of electrical hardware qualification.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

• Electrical Engineering Technologist diploma (or equivalent) with strong hands-on electrical experience in research-grade or rapid‑prototyping environments.


• Proficiency in cable harness assembly, SMD/through‑hole soldering, and use of common electrical development tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators).


• Knowledge of building and operating custom electronics test setups.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Eligibility for, or membership in, a certified engineering technologist association (e.g., OACETT).


• Experience working with Electrical and Mechanical CAD software.

• The annual salary range for this role is $81,500 - $89,000 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.


• This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.


• We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
