Job summary

Hatch Ltd. in Mississauga is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Nuclear) to lead electrical design within the nuclear sector. You will define requirements, develop deliverables, and mentor junior staff while interfacing with multiple disciplines and clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer in Ontario or eligible to obtain.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in electrical design/project engineering for nuclear.
  • Experience with CSA N286, NQA-1, and ISO 19443.
  • Experience with ECC processes in the Canadian nuclear industry.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering work packages ensuring budgets and schedules are met
  • Define electrical project requirements related to scope, cost and schedule
  • Develop and/or review electrical deliverables such as design requirements, single line diagrams, schematics, datasheets, technical specifications
  • Willingness to mentor junior and intermediate staff
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines and participate in design reviews
  • Participate in HAZOP, COMS and other safety-related reviews as required
  • Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates
  • Actively manage relationships with clients and vendors

You willbe apart of our growing nuclear team where we ensure world-class project delivery through the skills of our people, methodologies, governance, and systems. Responsibilities andduties will include, but not belimited:

  • Prepare engineering work packages ensuring budgets and schedules are met
  • Define electrical project requirements as theyare relatedto scope,costand schedule
  • Develop and/or review electrical deliverables such as design requirements, single line diagrams, schematics, datasheets, technical specifications, andmore
  • Willingness to mentor junior and intermediate staff
  • Interface with other engineering disciplinesincluding participation in design reviews
  • Participate in HAZOP, COMS and other safety related reviews asrequired
  • Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates
  • Actively manage relationships with clients and vendors

You bring to the role:

  • B.Sc./B.Eng.electrical engineeringdegree from an accredited university
  • Aregistered professional engineer in Ontario, or eligible to obtain
  • Valid Security clearance for Canada, or the ability to obtain
  • Minimum 10years' experiencein project engineering specific to electrical design
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to function with minimal supervision
  • Experience with working inside a Nuclear Quality Management System compliant with CSA N286, NQA-1, and / or ISO 19443
  • Familiar with grading approach for engineering and procurement activities
  • Sound understanding of design engineering codes and technical standards specifically CSA N series standards, CEC, NEC/NFPA, IEEE, OESC
  • Experience with construction and commissioning
  • Experience with ETAP or similar electrical analysis software
  • Experience working in the Canadian nuclear industry with clients such as Ontario Power Generation, Bruce Power and Canadian Nuclear Laboratories
  • Experience with Engineering Change Control (ECC) processes within the Canadian nuclear industry including CANDU station configuration management systems and systems such as Online Wiring.
  • Preference for those with DTL or DE qualifications at Canadian nuclear facilities
  • Eligible to work on export-controlled projects subject to 10 CFR 810

Base salary range: $131,000 - $181,000
