At TWD Technologies, we are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer – Power Engineer for our client in the GTA area.

What You’ll Do :

As an Electrical Engineer - Power Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems within energy and infrastructure facilities. You will support daily operations by leading maintenance activities, troubleshooting electrical systems, optimizing production processes, and implementing engineering solutions to improve equipment performance and system reliability.

  • Power Engineer
  • Commissioning & Start-Ups
  • Approve Vendor Drawings
  • Production Support
  • Monitor and optimize electrical systems to support continuous and efficient production operations.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and automation issues affecting production equipment and processes.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to reduce downtime, energy consumption, and operational risks.
  • Coordinate with production teams to align engineering solutions with operational targets.
  • Project & Asset Management
  • Support capital projects, including equipment upgrades and installation of new electrical systems.
  • Assist in specifying and selecting electrical components and systems suitable for industrial environments.
  • Provide technical input for asset lifecycle planning and equipment reliability improvements.
  • Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all electrical work is carried out in compliance with local, national, and international safety and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), job safety analysis (JSA), and electrical risk assessments.
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of electrical safety programs and standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 4–9 years of relevant experience in Power Engineer, commissioning & start-ups.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, motors, control systems, and PLCs.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software tools for electrical design, analysis, or maintenance planning (general software knowledge expected).
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical systems in high-demand production environments.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations, electrical codes, and industry standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, IEEE).
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
