Job summary

Intertape Polymer Group in Canada is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Reliability to join our Truro, NS site. You will ensure the reliability of plant equipment and provide electrical support across operations.

This full-time on-site role emphasizes proactive problem-solving, safety, and collaboration with maintenance and engineering teams. You will mentor engineers-in-training and apprentices while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience in plant equipment maintenance and reliability.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including PLCs, motors, and control systems.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability and optimal performance of plant equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in a timely manner.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the maintenance team during regular hours and be available for urgent issues after hours.
• Develop and implement electrical maintenance procedures and protocols.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to improve overall plant performance.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability.
• Mentor engineers-in-training and apprentices in related fields.
