What you can expect to do with us
  • You will lead the technical development of electrical projects, from preliminary studies to detailed engineering.
  • You will prepare, review, and approve drawings including but not limited to site plans, single line diagrams, panel schedules, and material takeoffs for 240 V to 35 kV distribution systems.
  • You will be familiar with various EV charging systems for light duty and heavy‑duty fleet vehicles.
  • Conduct power systems studies including short‑circuit analysis, arc flash, grounding and protection coordination.
  • Work with clients to identify their needs and transpose them into requirement registers.
  • You will work with the low voltage and civil teams to prepare complete specifications and design packages.
  • Oversee members of the design & drafting team.
  • You will technically assess customer requests and ensure the design of electrical installations, within the framework of single and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Prepare, review, and approve electrical equipment and installation specifications.
  • Attend project technical reviews.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders including the client, utility providers, municipal agencies, and engineering firms with the support of the Project Manager.
  • You will review and approve RFPs for the installation of equipment.
  • You will prepare and analyze bids and tender documents.
  • You will ensure deadlines are respected and that the quality of deliverables is ensured.
  • You will represent the firm to clients.
What you’ll bring to WSP
  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of active Professional Engineering experience with medium and low voltage systems.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineering in one or more provinces/territories.
  • Excellent command of the Canadian Electrical Code and local additions.
  • Fluent in English; bilingual French and English is highly valued.
  • Experience with hydrogen fueling systems is an asset.
Compensation

Salary range (in British Columbia): $91 200 – $125 400.

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
