Job summary

A specialized testing and equipment firm in Victoria is seeking an Electrical Engineer Coop for Winter 2026. The role involves working within an engineering team to design and build innovative products, along with responsibilities including testing prototypes and assisting in manufacturing processes.   • Previous design project experience is desired.

  • Senior students are desired.

Responsibilities

  • Work as an integral member of the engineering team to design and build innovative products.
  • Test concept prototypes.
  • Verify design and validate product prototypes.
  • Document design to direct manufacturing to build assemblies reliably.
  • Assist in transferring design to manufacturing.
  • Provide other technical assistance as needed.
  • Report on project progress as requested.
  • Attend training sessions to expand skills.

Skills

Experience with schematic and PCB design
Experience with sensor signal amplification / filtering
Experience with analogue and digital circuitry
Experience with Altium
Experience with data analysis using Python

Writing of technical instructions for test methods and manufacturing guidance
Familiarity with working in a regulated product development environment

Job description
Salary :

Hourly rate for 3rd year student is $24.27 and hourly rate for 4th year student is $25.38. Final rates will be confirmed in October 2025.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Work as an integral member of the engineering team to design and build innovative products;
  • Test concept prototypes
  • Verify design and validate product prototypes
  • Document design to direct manufacturing to build assemblies reliably
  • Assist in transferring design to manufacturing
  • Provide other technical assistance as needed
  • Report on project progress as requested; and / or
  • Attend training sessions as needed to expand your technical knowledge and skills.
Additional Responsibilities my Include :
  • Create electrical system concepts
  • Build proof of concept prototypes
  • Design parts / subsystems / systems according to design control procedures
  • Document design according to design / document control procedures
Education and Experience Required / Desired :
  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Biomedical Engineering or Engineering Physics is required
