About the Position

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This is an Electrical Engineer, GS-0850-11/12 position for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District and located in Tinker AFB, OK

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing electrical designs; performing technical reviews of electrical designs developed by Architectural-Engineering firms (A-E), and resolving electrical design related problems arising during construction.
  • Visits construction sites to observe conditions impacting the design and to identify solutions to design technical problems involving electrical systems and equipment which arise during construction.
  • Assists supervisor with planning, organizing, and monitoring the work carried out alone and/or with section personnel.
  • Reviews and analyzes initial project information; participates in pre-design and review conferences for large, complex or unconventional, as well as conventional, Military and Civil Works projects assigned.
  • Performs technical review of the electrical engineering aspects of design packages developed by Architectural-Engineering (A-E) firms consisting of drawings, specifications and design analysis.
  • Provides electrical engineering support to Construction and Operations Divisions personnel in resolving conventional and highly complex electrical problems prior to, during, and after construction for Military and Civil Works projects.
Requirements
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) will be approximately 25%.
  • This position requires a Professional Engineer License.
