Location

This position is full time, based out of our Calgary AB office. We offer relocation assistance to individuals in the Canada area to Calgary.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize SmartPlant and Revit 3D design tools to design and draft drawings for electrical systems for buildings and industrial facilities, which can include wiring, power distribution diagrams, electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, raceway design/sizing and equipment layout, cable management systems and sizing of cables, grounding layout, lighting, lightening protection, equipment locations, conduit layout.
  • Utilize codes and standards to complete assignments with little supervision.
  • Identifies changes in the scope of work during a small project and produces design changes as needed to stay within budget and schedule.
  • Takes initiative to meet or exceed the quality and expected outcome requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Performs assigned work efficiently and effectively to maximize productivity, while complying with company standards to produce quality deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology and a minimum of 4 years Electrical and/or I&C design/drafting experience, which includes experience working in 3D and 2D. If no degree, High School diploma + 8 years’ related experience.
  • Intermediate AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Revit or Microstation skills, Experience with design/drafting for drawings, P&IDs, One Line Diagrams, Panel designs, electrical layouts.
  • Develops and presents work in well-constructed written and verbal presentations.
  • Works collaboratively across departments and involves others in solving problems. Initiates meetings within own team, other disciplines or internal customers for clarity on work.
  • Supports project teams and departments with design support for drawings, specifications, IO Lists. Works well with other to accomplish common goals and objectives. Understanding of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE standards.
  • Able to manage multiple responsibilities with set expectations and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplined teams, and subcontractors for equipment.
  • Experience with design for construction preferred; Design/Build, EPC project experience preferred.
  • Must be willing to obtain your P.Eng for Alberta when eligible or in the process of obtaining your P.Eng
