TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for an Electrical Design Lead role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.

Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical engineering efforts on major studies and EPCM projects in mineral processing.
• Prepare and review labor, material, and cost estimates for project planning.
• Develop equipment specifications and evaluate technical bids from vendors.
• Perform and verify electrical calculations, including short circuit and voltage drop analyses.
• Review vendor drawings and resolve technical issues as needed.
• Participate in factory acceptance testing and provide construction-phase engineering support.
• Manage project schedules, manpower forecasts, and resource planning.
• Ensure integration of electrical design with other disciplines in complex facility layouts.
• Prioritize safety, technical assurance, and HSE compliance in all design activities.
• Communicate technical solutions clearly and provide mentorship and leadership within the team.

Job Requirements:

• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or equivalent experience in a Lead Designer capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, with at least 5–10 years in the mining sector.
• Experience in mineral processing is preferred; other heavy industrial backgrounds may be considered.
• Familiarity with Solvent Extraction (SX) and Electrowinning (EW) processes.
• Experience working with electrical systems up to 230 kV is an asset.
• Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes and standards.
• Proven leadership and supervisory capabilities.
• Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
