- Participate in field verification, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of critical electrical systems.
- Take field measurements with electrical test instruments, including power-quality analysers, infrared thermography cameras, insulation-resistance testers, and digital multimeters, and record the results accurately.
- Assist with commissioning utility service, medium- and low-voltage distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, ATS/STS, UPS systems, battery systems, PDUs, grounding, protection, EPMS, and associated controls.
- Support verification of electrical-system redundancy, control sequences, alarms, interlocks, failover, recovery, maintainability, and response to abnormal operating conditions.
- Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, submittals, equipment documentation, test procedures, and sequences of operation.
- Conduct site inspections and verify installation, test readiness, and completion of pre-functional requirements.
- Assist with the development, review, and execution of test plans, test scripts, checklists, test matrices, and acceptance criteria.
- Support testing of BMS/EPMS points, alarms, monitoring, interlocks, automatic transfer sequences, protection systems, and system response.
- Attend commissioning, test-readiness, and technical coordination meetings with clients, contractors, OEMs, consulting engineers, and MCE personnel.
- Coordinate with contractors and OEM representatives during equipment startup, testing, issue resolution, and documentation review.
- Maintain accurate test records, site observations, deficiency logs, meeting minutes, and project-status updates.
- Support test-day logistics, including site access, equipment availability, safety controls, temporary loads, required documentation, and OEM attendance.
- Assist in tracking deficiencies, verifying corrective actions, and confirming readiness for subsequent testing stages.
- Support owner training, turnover documentation, and transition of systems to the facility operations team.
- Follow MCE and project safety requirements at all times.
- Work primarily from the Edmonton project site and travel to other client and project locations across Alberta and Canada, as required.
- Perform other duties and support other project activities as assigned from time to time by the Lead Data Centre Commissioning Engineer & Project Manager, CxA Principal, or senior management.
